A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS // MARCH

And so ends another month in the year of 2015.  I know everyone always says this, but HOLY COW how is this year just flying by?!  I honestly don't mind it, because it means we're just that much closer to Christmas. "You said the 'C' word!"  Why, yes.  Yes, I did.  And I'll say it again.  CHRISTMAS.

Anyway, these are a few of my favorite things. When the dog bites! When the bee stings!  For real, though.

This candle. THIS CANDLE.  Why had I never bought a mint scented candle before?  I'm usually attracted to the more "oh my gosh, this smells like cupcakes and pumpkin and sugar and all pastries ever" you know?  But then I picked up this Olivia Blake candle at Homegoods (my favorite place ever in the history of ever) and my spring dreams were realized.  This has such a fresh, light scent without being overpowering like most springtime floral-y candles can be.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless, yes yes YES.  I have, um should we say, not the most dry - normal skin.  It's downright oily.  Like, hello makeup looks flawless, but 2 hours later becomes a shiny mess.  I've always been a fan of the Fit Me concealer, but never tried the original formula foundation because I heard that it left quite a dewy finish, and if you're skin is even the least bit oily, you'll know that dewy finish = major mess.  It just doesn't stick.  So, when I saw Maybelline came out with the Matte + Poreless version, ohh, was I excited!
This foundation wears absolutely beautifully throughout the day.  It's more of a medium to buildable coverage, but I like to apply a very thin layer, so it looks just like my skin but better.  I love pairing it with the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face.

This Tarte Maracuja Bronzing Serum is life.  Alright, I admit, that was a bit of an exaggeration, but it is a beautiful product.  I received this in my January Boxycharm, and honestly at first I was like, "meh".  I had never tried a serum before, and I'm not really into bronzing or tanning or looking like anything other than a pale creature of the indoors.  But, after working with this throughout the month, I've really grown to love it.  Let's start from application to finish.

1) I like to apply this both in the morning and at night, and I like to use a lot of this. A LOT.  When you use the dropper to take out the serum, it fills up about 1-2 centimeters of it.  I use those 1-2 centimeters allll over my face (the packaging directs only 2-3 drops, but eh, that's just a suggestion, right?).  I'll also go through and apply another dropper-full of serum all over my neck and chest.  No one likes a tan face and pale neck, that's just wrong.

2) I apply this in segments, because this stuff dries fast.  I start with the right cheek, then left, then forehead, and finally nose and chin.  It leaves a bit of a sticky finish but - HOLD UP DON'T LEAVE, it's a good sticky, promise!  That's one reason I LOVE applying this in the morning!  The "sticky" finish makes it a perfect base for your foundation.  It really clings on and makes your makeup not. want. to. budge.

3) The bronzing effect is gradual.  I notice myself looking a little more tan and glowy after about a week of using this.  It doesn't leave me orange, but I feel like it might be iffy for those pale ladies with pink undertones, since my skin is more olive-y.

Now, I know I'm going on and ON about this product, but that just means it really is a favorite of mine.  The last thing I wanted to say is that I love that I can use this in place of moisturizer, especially now that I'm no longer living in the frozen tundra, because spring has sp-RUNG.
We made it to the end!  My last favorite of the month has definitely been simple pendant necklaces.  I'm usually more of a statement necklace kind of girl.  Tribal-inspired, beading, coin details, and jingling-and-jangling so much that you can hear me coming from a block away is more my style.  But since I bought these two from Forever 21 and American Eagle (<- similar), I just can't get enough.  The simplicity is so modern while still interest-catching, especially since all I wear are solid black, gray, and white tees.

What have been some of your favorites from the past month - beauty related, fashion, or otherwise?
